It costs between €800-€1,400 a month to run Tank Encyclopedia. Aside from the general upkeep costs of the websites, we pay the volunteers in our team who work on making our beautiful illustrations and create our YouTube content. We even have to pay for accountants! Currently, in most cases, we do not pay the authors of our well-researched three weekly articles. We would like to have more money to pay everyone who contributes to making Tank Encyclopedia the great website it is.
Some of our current costs are:
- A brand new illustration €25
- YouTube audio editing €10
- YouTube narrating €20
- YouTube script writing €25
- YouTube video editing €30
- Article editing €1 per 2,000 words
- Porting €40
Our major source of income is YouTube, but this is not sustainable and is largely dependent on viewership. Because of this, on occasions, we have to accept offers from advertisers who want to promote their content on our website or YouTube channel. We do not like having to do this and we know you don’t either. We reject 90% of the advertising offers we get, but sometimes we must accept them to keep Tank Encyclopedia afloat. Most of these offers are for over $175, which pays for at least six brand new illustrations. A new and more reliable source of regular income would allow us not to depend on these advertising deals.
Tank Encyclopedia is a non-profit organisation based in Romania and the European Union. All the money we earn gets reimbursed into Tank Encyclopedia. Medium Tank

By joining our Medium Tank support tier, you are supporting us to create a modified illustration or the audio editing for one of our YouTube videos. In addition to the Tankette and Light Tank perks, you’ll get:
- Early access to our beautiful illustrations
- You’ll be named at the end of our YouTube videos and your name will appear at the bottom of our new articles
- You’ll receive a new electronic poster every month of one of the previous month’s articles
- A discount code for all TE Publications
Heavy Tank

Our Heavy Tank tier is for hardcore TE supporters. With this monthly contribution, you are helping pay for the narration of one of our YouTube videos and for nearly the entirety of a brand new illustration. In addition to all previous perks, you’ll get:
- A free electronic copy of new TE Books (valued at $7.99)
- You’ll be the sponsor of one of that month’s new illustrations and will be recognised as such on the website and social media
- Each month you’ll be able to ask a question to be answered in one of our YouTube videos
